The Village Singers
For many years The Village Singers were led by the late John Federico, an ASCAP award-winning director who shared with us his many talents and arrangements as musical director. We will always have a special place in our hearts for John - a spirited instructor and a friend - taken from us too soon.
We musical director is Kathleen Theisen, a nationally certified teacher of music who is also a pianist, soprano and conductor. Kathleen brings a wealth of professional and performance experiences, as well as multiple awards and honors, to this role. Rehearsals with Kathleen are high-energy, informative and entertaining.
The Village Singers chorus was founded in 1993. We rehearse weekly at the Atria in Rye Brook, NY, located at 1200 King Street.
Members bring a varying degree of musical experience to the group. What we share is a passion for singing, respect for each other, and a commitment to bringing our best voices together for rehearsals every Tuesday, from 7:00-9:00 PM (Spring semester is January - June; Winter semester is September-December). We typically hold two concerts per year: our Spring Concert is in June and our Winter Concert is in December.
